If you are regular with my haul videos in my YouTube channel, you will know that during a Nykaa sale, I got myself a Vaadi Herbal Manicure/Pedicure set. But somehow or others I did not find time to use it. After returning from Kolkata on 29th, I was really not well enough to sit down for work, and so on 30th thought of using it for my hands because they looked really dry and the nails were a mess.
So out came the box which looks like this:
Inside, there were four small boxes and a vial of nail/cuticle oil
The instructions on which goes first and the rest of the sequence was clearly written on the side of the box:
Incidentally, though the box said Pedicure/Manicure set, the products were all labeled as foot products.
I started by cleaning my nails with Dabur newU nail polish remover pads. Ever since I have found nail polish remover pads, I practically stopped using nail polish removers and cotton. These are so handy; they come in a box and one wipe (depending on the brand) is good enough for two to the whole ten fingers!! For me, most of the time removing nail polishes meant wasting a ton of cotton pads!! And the bottle (I use the Lakme one) will fall at least once leading to wastage.
So before I digress, let’s continue with my first ever home manicure. I filled a flat utensil with warm water and the first thing I added was the cleanser, as per direction. The product inside looked like a lemon jelly and was very jelly like to touch as well. However it dissolved really well in the water leading a slight soapy water. The smell was predominantly lemony.
After soaking my hands for about 6 minutes, I started cleaning and preening it with the manicure set I got with my January Violet box. The set is very handy and this set was one of the reason I thought of doing this home manicure!
Next was the scrub. It was pale yellow in color with miniscule red beads. The smell was of lemongrass and very soothing. A little was enough to give my hands a good scrub.
After scrubbing and thoroughly washing my hands off, (it already looked so clean and moist), I applied the third item which was the pack. It was also yellow in color and not very thick. The mask was very easy to spread on hands. The lemon grass smell made the room really fragrant.
The mask dried in about 15 minutes and in the meantime, I had changed the water. Washed off the mask and the hands and nails were now looking quite good. Now was the time to take care of the nails and I applied the nail/cuticle oil on the nails and the cream on the hands. Really massaged them in and was quite happy with how they looked!!
At first I though of leaving the nails bare, but my nail polishes were calling me. So ended up doing french nails.
Review: The products were good and easy to use. The step-by-step guidance was really easy to follow. Lemon and lemongrass was the main fragrance and really uplifted my tired moods. The smell lingered for a long. The price on the box is Rs 220, but it is available for Rs 187 from both Nykaa and Amazon.
Remember in both Nykaa and Amazon, the product will be available in this price only if you are ordering purchases worth 500 or more because then no shipping charges will be needed. Otherwise, if you are just ordering this, you have to pay shipping.
As for me, I think the set will last for a good 5 to 6 uses. It is great for those who don’t have the time to go to a salon for a manicure/pedicure and like to do it at home. As for the pedicure, I will try it out and let you know. Given the result with the manicure, it will be good as well.
So try it out and if you do, tell me how was your experience.
